CANCELLATION OF BOIL WATER NOTICE

Malaga County Water District

On May 4, 2024, you were notified of the need to boil/disinfect all tap water used for drinking and cooking purposes. 

The Malaga County Water District in conjunction with the State Water Resources Control Board has determined that, through abatement of the health hazard and comprehensive testing of the water, your water is safe to drink. It is no longer necessary to boil your tap water or for you to consume bottled water.

CANCELACIÓN DEL AVISO DE HERVIR EL AGUA

Malaga County Water District

El día 4 de Mayo de 2024 le notificaron que tenía que hervir o desinfectar toda el agua de la llave que utilizara para beber y cocinar.

El Sistema de Agua de Malaga County Water District junto con el Estado de California, División de Agua Potable han determinado tras la supresión del riesgo de salud, seguido por un análisis completo del agua, que puede beber el agua de su llave sin peligro. Ya no es necesario que hierva el agua de su llave ni que consuma agua de botella.

BOIL WATER NOTICE

Boil Your Water Before Drinking or Food Preparation to Avoid Illness 

Due to the recent events which occurred on the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water, the Fresno County Health Department, and the Malaga Water System are advising residents of Malaga to only use boiled tap water or bottled water for drinking and cooking purposes as a safety precaution to avoid stomach or intestinal illness. The affected area includes: residentials and business from American St and North St, and Maple & Minnewawa St sphere of influence.

We will inform you when tests show that water is safe to drink, and you no longer need to boil your water. We anticipate resolving the problem within 5/7/2024.

Optional: Potable water is available at the following locations: Ariaga Community Center  3582 S Winery Ave, Fresno, CA 93725

Please bring a clean water container (5 gallons maximum capacity).

Do not drink the water without boiling it first

·         Boil all water for one (1) minute (rolling boil).

·         Let water cool before drinking.

·         Use boiled or bottled water for drinking, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.

·         Boiling water kills bacteria and other organisms in the water.

If you are unable to boil your water:

Household unscented liquid bleach

·         For clear water, use 8 drops (1/8 tsp.) of bleach for 1 gallon of water. For cloudy water, filter through a clean cloth and use 16 drops (1/4 tsp.) of bleach for 1 gallon of water.

·         Mix well. Allow to stand for 30 minutes before using.

·         Water may taste or smell like chlorine. This means disinfection has occurred.

AVISO DE HERVIR AGUA

Hierva el agua antes de beber o preparar alimentos para evitar enfermedades 

Debido a los recientes acontecimientos ocurridos en la Junta Estatal de Control de Recursos Hídricos, la División de Agua Potable, el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Fresno y el Sistema de Agua de Málaga están aconsejando a los residentes de Málaga que solo utilicen agua hervida del grifo o agua embotellada para beber y cocinar. como medida de seguridad para evitar enfermedades estomacales o intestinales. El área afectada incluye: residenciales y negocios de la esfera de influencia de American St y North St, y Maple & Minnewawa St.

Le informaremos cuando las pruebas muestren que el agua es segura para beber y ya no necesite hervirla. Anticipamos que se resolverá el problema dentro del 5/7/2024.

Por favor traiga un recipiente de agua limpia (capacidad máxima de 5 galones).

No bebas el agua sin hervirla primero.

·         Hierva toda el agua durante un (1) minuto (hirviendo).

·         Deje que el agua se enfríe antes de beberla.

·         Utilice agua hervida o embotellada para beber, cepillarse los dientes y preparar alimentos hasta nuevo aviso.

·         El agua hirviendo mata las bacterias y otros organismos en el agua.

Si no puede hervir el agua:

Use Cloro domestico sin perfume

·         Para agua limpia, use 8 gotas (1/8 de cucharadita) de lejía por 1 galón de agua. Para agua turbia, filtre a través de un paño limpio y use 16 gotas (1/4 cucharadita) de lejía por 1 galón de agua.

·         Mezclar bien. Deje reposar durante 30 minutos antes de usar.

·         El agua puede saber o oler a cloro. Esto significa que se ha producido la desinfección.

Pastillas desinfectantes de agua.

·         Siga las instrucciones del fabricante
